2015 NECA Golf Outing to raise awareness for good cause

HARVARD, Mass. — The event will take place at Shaker Hills in Harvard on Monday, Sept. 28.

HARVARD, Mass. — On Monday, Sept. 28, the 2015 New England Car Wash Association (NECA) Golf Outing will help Tony DeBarros of Balise Hyannis Car Wash restore his homeland of Cape Verde, according to a press release.

Located off the west coast of Africa, Cape Verde is situated on a volcanic archipelago comprised of 10 islands with a population of approximately 530,000, stated the release.

On Nov. 23, 2014, a volcanic eruption occurred on one of the tiny islands named Fogo, reported the release, which advanced into three villages.

In the course of 22 days, added the release, more than 2,500 people were displaced and their homes destroyed.

For this year’s annual event, NECA will help support Cape Verde and DeBarros, continued the article, who will share his experience during the golf outing.

The event will take place at Shaker Hills in Harvard, informed the release, and lunch and registration will begin at 11 a.m. with a shot gun start at noon.

New this year, stated the release, is a guaranteed winner of the putting contest, the “NECA 2015 Putter of the Year,” who will receive a $1,000 cash prize.

Additional contests, prizes and raffles will be included during the event, noted the release, and dinner will follow the golf outing at 5:30 p.m., which NECA reports is “a great opportunity to connect with fellow carwashers and operators.”

“Thanks so very much to our suppliers who have graciously supported this event and to the golfers who have registered,” shared the release.

According to NECA’s website for the event, 2015 sponsors include: Trans-Mate™ as the Presenting Sponsor; Simoniz USA Inc. as the Golf Cart Sponsor; Washify as the Passport Sponsor; Autowash Maintenance Corp. as the Putting Contest Sponsor; Rhode Island Chemical Corp. as the Lunch Sponsor; New England Car Wash Equipment and Innovative Control Systems as the Beverage Cart Sponsors; Balise Auto Group as the Rules Sheet Sponsor and Hole in One Sponsor; and National Ticket Co., Daily General Counsel, Hydra-Flex Inc., Route 1 Car Wash, Airlift Doors Inc., Diamond Shine Car Care, Wipe-On Wipe-Off, PECO Car Wash Systems, Auto Shine Car Wash Systems of New England, ERC Wiping Products Inc., Diamond H2O and Professional Carwashing & Detailing as the Hole Sponsors.
