VICTORIA, Australia — The Australian Car Wash Association (ACWA) is encouraging Australian carwash owners and operators to offer free carwashes to veterans and active military on Nov. 11, according to a press release.
The Grace for Vets program was founded in 2004 by Mike Mountz, stated the release, and more than 3,000 carwashes in four countries (which includes Australia) are participating in this year’s event on Nov. 11, known as Remembrance Day in Australia and Veterans Day here in the U.S.
For Australian carwashes new to the program or are not sure if they have confirmed their previous registration, reported the release, go to www.graceforvets.org to register and/or check the current Australian listings.
The ACWA website also features supporting documents and signage for Grace for Vets on its home page, continued the release.
“Increasing the number of washes under this program reflects the international carwash industry’s commitment as a whole to our service personnel,” noted the release, adding that local communities will also view carwashes as good citizens who give back to those who protect their countries.
