LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The board here was expected to give final approval for an annexation and a special use permit for a new carwash, gas station and c-store, FirstElectricNewspaper.com reported.
The Feb. 14 story stated that the Board and Planning and Zoning Commission held a joint hearing on the plan before approving the new Grove Mart location. The business will feature a 4,700-square-foot carwash, a 4,000-square-foot store and 16 gas pumps.

The business’ developers agreed to pay either 5 percent or $50,000 of the cost for a new bike path connecting two roads here. The total equals half of the village’s share for the bike path construction assuming a grant becomes available for the second half.
The trustees were split on Grove Mart’s request for a large sign. The store requested the sign because the site is hidden from westbound traffic. The board finally okayed a sign to match the size of a nearby CVS sign.
