PEORIA, IL — Part time employee Dennis R. Levy, 35, was arrested at his home for armed robbery and possession of marijuana. The Journal Star reported that police were called to the Glass House Car Wash where Levy worked on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 5:15 p.m. after the manager reported an armed robber had stolen an unknown amount of cash.
The Sept. 19 story stated that Levy and another suspect burst into the wash in the morning, forced the manager to her knees and went through her pockets for cash. He then forced her into the business office, taking more cash from drawers.
Levy whispered phrases like “I love you” and “Don’t look at my face” to the manager as he stole the money. Police were able to identify Levy’s car at the time of the robbery through surveillance equipment.
The manager reported that she had texted Levy that morning to see if he could work. He responded that he had a job interview.
The second suspect was not identified.
