DEXTER, MI — Carwash owners are cleaning up damage to their business here after a probable EF-3 tornado roared through the area last week, The Detroit News reported.
The March 17 story stated that Mary Grace Ash and her husband, Greg, were on-site at Village Car Wash and Laundry cleaning up the storm damage. The couple has co-owned the businesses with two other couples for six years.
The storm blew off the roof of the Laundromat and damaged the carwash roof and walls. No one was hurt even though two people were washing their cars at the time of the storm.
There has been support from neighbors and friends, and some even stopped by to help clean up. Ash’s husband used a Bobcat to move debris, and the couple plans on doing a lot of the work themselves to minimize the business’s loss.
“We’ll reopen under the same circumstances with a fresh new look,” Ash said in the story. Plans include rebuilding the business with an environmentally friendly focus, including more efficient boilers.
