TORONTO — Police said a man went into a carwash here and deposited marked bank bills from a robbery into a change machine, thestar.com reported.
The Jan. 13 story stated that the marked money was used at the carwash four days after the bank robbery.
An armed man wearing a Halloween mask walked into a bank and pointed a handgun at two tellers, the story noted. He demanded money before firing a shot into the ceiling; he then fled the scene with the money.
Police are not sure that the robber and the man at the carwash are the same person. “The first one is wearing a disguise and the other is not. So we have potentially two different people, and then again they could be the same,” Wendy Drummond, a constable, said in the story.
