Peter Wold, a sales manager for DoorTec®, whom has also written for Professional Carwashing & Detailing, writes about pneumatic door operators and why a carwash operator should consider using one, in an article found here.

Wold also points out ways to evaluate the pay back of premium pneumatic operators as well as the key features a buyer should be looking for.

The big question, writes Wold, is why should a business pay more for a pneumatic operator when they can get by with an electrical operator? “One answer to that question is speed,” he writes. “If you need to open and close a door fast, the air option is a great way to go. Most air operators move at around 1 foot per second, depending upon the specific door application and operating pressure. The speed becomes important when trying to keep the cold weather out.”
