The president of the SECWA said the Fall Convention & Expo, held Sept. 13-16, in New Orleans, was a success.
Bob Schrum is the president of Southeastern Car Wash Association (SECWA) and he said the recent Fall Convention & Expo in New Orleans, held Sept. 13-16, was a success and attendance was up.
The Convention & Expo, which included a Mardi Gras parade, was great, Schrum said. “Our exhibitors and attendees commented on the great location of New Orleans, the fantastic educations sessions that were offered and the overall feel of the show.”
Attendance was definitely increased and they even had attendees from Panama, Central America.
To get more people to attend, Schrum said they concentrated on a lot more advertising and focused on creating a show that would be educational for carwash members. “Vendors loved the fact that we discounted our booth prices to help with a tough economy and still allow them to attend the show and exhibit,” Schrum said.
An underlying theme of the show and with the attendees was the concern over the economy.
As for next year, Schrum said, “We are going to focus on education and still offering our wash members and exhibitors the opportunity to attend our show, network with other operators, have fun in Orlando, FL, and walk away with a great deal and some valuable information that will help you with your business success.”
