A new carwash here is bringing some tough competition to other washes in town.
Kevin Bandari, owner of the new Fast Pass Car Wash, has been in the carwash business for 15 years and has four carwashes in surrounding cities.
Bandari said Fast Pass Car Wash has a 125-foot tunnel with two computer systems and five hydraulic motors.
His Bakersfield, CA location washes 800 cars a day, and he hopes to wash 300 to 400 cars a day in Lompoc by this coming summer.
Bandari's prices start at $5 for a standard wash, $9 for a wash with polish and sealer wax, and $15 for inside detailing.

Kenneth Klefenz, current owner of Clear Sunset Car Wash, is set to buy another carwash in Bradenton.
The acquisition will be finalized in mid-January and the name will be changed to Clear Sunset Car Wash in February.
The carwash will be a beach-themed facility and will offer customers computer use with Internet access, wireless Internet and a seating area with plasma TV.
Klefenz is a former New York banking executive and former general manager with Weight Watchers. He opened the Bradenton store last November.
Calvin Caruso Jr., owner of Calvin's Furniture, has opened Bubble Boy Car Wash. The conveyorized carwash offers a full-line of services, with a hand dry finish.
MILES Auto Spa, an upscale carwash and custom auto supply store, opened here in February.
The business is unique to the Nashville area — and to the country, owner and president Miles Johnson adds.
"We did this because of what Nashville and particularly Williamson County is going to become," Johnson said. "It's very sophisticated."
MILES Auto Spa will become a part of a larger development focused on offering luxurious amenities. Sharing an entrance with the business will be Prairie Life Center, a $10 million family fitness center opening in May.
Nearby, Wild Ginger, an upscale, independently-owned Pan-Asian restaurant featuring menu items from the Pacific Rim and sushi, will open later in 2007.
Approximately .469 acres will be used to build a drive-thru carwash here. The property was purchased from Evans Research for $275,000.
The carwash lot is adjacent to Research Plaza, featuring WaWa, First Market
Bank and a proposed 12,000-square-foot retail center.
Sunset Car and Pet Wash has officially opened its doors for business.
Creator and owner Taun Frosst filled a need for a touchless carwash in the area by opening this one up. Frosst says there are three manual bays, one touchless bay and a pet wash.
Construction began this summer and plans were made in 2004.
