The International Carwash Association (ICA) has named the Ford Fusion as the Most Washable Car for 2006.

Runners-up include the 2006 Chevrolet Impala and the 2006 Honda Civic.

Moore Oil Co. Inc. has acquired Price Oil Co. of Montgomery, AL, kicking off its entry into the Mobile, AL market and nearly doubling its customer base.

The purchase gives Birmingham, AL-based Moore Oil an additional 105 supply contracts, bringing to 230 the number of gas stations it services from Nashville, TN, to the Florida Panhandle.

Moore Oil now holds supply contracts for every major gasoline brand in Alabama market.

Moore Oil also bought Montgomery-based Torque Transportation LLC, which was affiliated with Price Oil.

ExxonMobil added 97 new locations in 2005, making Mobil 1 Lube Express one of the fastest-growing brands in the industry.

The new locations included 48 competitive conversions and 49 lube facilities which previously branded either Mobil or Exxon.

The shops feature Mobil-branded lubricants, as well as oil filters. The company said the shops also benefit by ExxonMobil aftermarket programs and services for installers.


Veteran fast lube owner Sue Ackley announced her departure as president of the Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) and welcomed the new board at the AOCA 2006 Annual Convention and Fast Lube Expo.

Dave Jensen, owner of Pennzoil 10 Minute Oil Change Centre in Waterloo, Ontario and former vice president of the association, will take over as the new president.

Chris Tolsdorf of Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express in West Chester, PA, is the association's new vice president. He was elected to a three-year term as board member in 2004.

Steve Allison of Shell Rapid Lube in Myrtle Beach, SC, will remain the board's secretary-treasurer.
