Ryko Manufacturing, Grimes, IA, announced that it's signed a distribution agreement with Royce Industries, a provider of vehicle wash solutions based in West Jordan, UT.

Ryko and Royce have recently expanded their commitment to this distributor relationship with a plan to gain market share in the areas served by Royce.

D & S Car Wash Equipment Company, held its first National Sales Meeting and Vendor Expo in St. Louis recently.

The event was part of the company's new objective to build a team-based distributor organization and partnership program with vendors and suppliers.

Distributors from all across the nation attended the two-day event, which included a general business session, one-on-one training sessions with suppliers, and a Vendor Expo.

Shell Oil Products U.S. is planning to convert or build more than 100 stations in Arizona this year.

The company is working to switch 70 Texaco-branded sites over to the Shell name; Shell will lose the rights to the Texaco brand name so it is rebranding sites that it acquired from Texaco.

So far this year 47, stations have already been converted, and there are plans to convert another 50 or so by the end of the year. The company also will build 15 new Shell stations.

Giant Industries Inc. announced recently that it purchased Dial Oil Co., a wholesale distributor of gasoline, diesel and lubricants, expanding its operations in the southwest portion of the United States.

Farmington, NE-based Dial was bought for an undisclosed cost, but owns 12 service stations and convenience stores, four bulk petroleum distribution plants and a fleet of truck transports. The company sells about 100 million gallons of fuel and lubes annually.


Carwash industry veteran Eugene "Deny" Denison passed away peacefully in his sleep recently.

Denison's Sacramento, CA-based business, Aqua/Tech Wash Systems, was founded in 1975 and supplies equipment to carwash operators. He was the owner of multiple carwash and oil change facilities, and a longstanding member of both the International Carwash Association and the Western Carwash Association.

WashUSA's committee, which oversees the one-day carwash fund-raiser to benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America, has named longtime carwasher and distributor Gene Montenieri with Cleaning Systems Inc. (CSI) as one of WashUSA's newest regional directors. Brad Hooper of Rossmoor Car Wash & Detail in Los Alamitos, CA, WashUSA's was named a regional director for the event as well.

PDQ Manufacturing, De Pere, WI, maker of vehicle wash systems, recently announced the appointment of Dan Martelli to the position of business development manager of PDQ's domestic Outside Sales team.

Martelli is based out of Glassboro, NJ and works extensively with PDQ's distribution, helping to identify and develop new market and customer opportunities and promoting the sale of PDQ equipment in the marketplace.

Carwash equipment supplier Unitec Electronics, Elkridge, MD, announced that Charles Stiegler has joined the company as the technical trainer.

Stiegler will be providing Unitec's distributors with technical training on all of the company's products, and brings with him nine years of technical experience.

C.A.R. Products, Inc., a manufacturer of vehicle wash products, has announced the appointment of John Millerick as director of distributor development.

Millerick's job will include helping existing distributors grow, seeking out new chemical distributors and working with them to achieve success.

Ecolab announced the addition of Jeff Sturges, a carwash industry veteran, to the position of district sales manager for the Vehicle Care Division.

Sturges will oversee sales for the carwash markets in Michigan, Ohio, southern Indiana and northern Kentucky.
