Stephanie Robert, director of marketing for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), has been working hard to set up the NACS expo in Las Vegas this November.

She took time out of her hectic schedule to speak with Professional Carwashing & Detailing® about the highly anticipated event being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center November 15-18.

Professional Carwashing & Detailing®: What can carwash industry members expect at this year’s show?

Stephanie Robert: Carwash industry members can find most of their interests in the Petroleum Equipment Institute where a large variety of carwash equipment and services ranging from touch-free carwash systems to POS card-reading technology at the drive-thru can be found.

PC&D: How large of a presence does carwashing have in the convience store business?

SR: According to the NACS 2005 State of Industry Reports, one in five convience stores have a carwash. In the same sample, 18.4 percent indicate that they do have a carwash on the premises.

There is a large opportunity for growth since many people who attend the NACS expo might be looking into adding a carwash service to their convience store, since many owners find that these two businesses go hand in hand.

PC&D: What goals do you hope to achieve with the expo in Las Vegas?

SR: We hope to provide our attendees with the latest products and services that have been developed, valuable knowledge provided by our professional speakers and peers, as well as connections that will last them for the lifetime of their business.
