The Big Easy Car Wash should be up and running by May and owner James Moore is excited about how his new business will benefit the environment. According to Moore, the New Orleans-themed carwash will have zero impact on the city’s water supply thanks to three onsite 4,500-gallon water reclamation tanks.
The wash will recapture, treat and reuse 75 percent of the water used and will only use potable water for rinsing. Eventually, a pipe will carry reused city water to the wash and that will make it so that 100 percent of the water is being reused.
Moore said he will also eventually install solar panels. “We’ll be using energy-saving electrical sources and mini water heaters for inside the building that produce instantly hot water, thereby saving water and energy,” he said.
After working 26 years as a pathology assistant who helped doctors diagnose diseases, Otto Diaz is finally realizing his true dream career: He has opened a luxury carwash.
Otto’s Carwash offers services for every budget. Express washes begin at $5; full-service washes start at $14. Express detailing services begin at $49.99 with complete detailing costing $150 and up.
Customers watch their vehicles being cleaned while they wait in the wash’s lobby or gift shop. Diaz’s wife, Ida, designed and stocked the gift shop with everything from sodas and homemade cookies to home décor and luxury gift items like Ugg shoes and handbags, the article said.
A land deal approved by this city’s planning commission saved a restaurant, which employs 16 people, and has paved the way for a brand new carwash.
The new carwash is being built behind the Dubb’s Restaurant, which is getting a makeover.
Originally, the current owners, Pat and Darrell McCall, wanted to tear down the restaurant and just have the carwash, but that would have left 16 people unemployed. An architect then created a plan that could accommodate both facilities on the land.
