COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — A carwash here may be part of a mini retail boom, according to The Gazette.

The May 18 story said the Smudge Dog and Car Wash location already neighbored a Taco Bell and Kwal Paint, and now a new Burger King has opened. A pizza restaurant and a c-store will soon open at the same intersection.

Other planned businesses for the area include a mini golf and batting cage business, more restaurants, another c-store and perhaps an apartment complex.

Until now, retail and commercial development had bypassed the area, but it has picked up recently due to the development of nearby shopping centers.

Ed Lohman, a developer and owner of some property in the area, said the poor economy of the past few years slowed the progression of development. “Sometimes it’s a fast pace, and sometimes, because of the economy, it’s a slow pace,” Lohman said in the story.

Don't go here if you value your property

Apparently the smudge car wash has an issue where they tend to ruin the transmissions of small cars. A fact they shared after I pulled my mini cooper in and then there was a loud metal crunching and they shared that fact. They also took off my antennae on my car and didn't return it. When questioned about the whereabouts once I realized over a week later the owner said, sorry I trust my employee who said she returned it so I refuse to replace it. If you value your property I wouldn't go here.
