SAN DIEGO — Cherry carwash service is now operating here, and the business is trying to reverse the trend of automated, water-wasting carwashing, KSWB reported.

The Oct. 23 story stated that the Cherry.com carwash business uses a system that requires less than a gallon of water per car. The service expanded from San Francisco three months ago and has been hiring independent car washers here.

App-driven mobile service adding new market

Customers go online and order a carwash. The washer gets a message, finds the car and washes it where it’s parked. No money is exchanged, and the car owner does not even need to interact with the washer.

The cost of the service is $29, according to the story.

Interesting, more of these are brewing up. I heard of Washly (washly.com) the other day in Toronto, Canada. Not sure how viable is it though, I mean with their pricing- it seems not the cheap kind of wash and not the detail kind.
