Metalcraft announces promotions, hires

Sales growth, new leadership at RFID, bar code manufacturer

MASON CITY, IA (Nov. 5, 2012) – Metalcraft today announced strengthening of their organization to serve customers’ growing needs for ID solutions.

Steve A. Doerfler has been promoted from President to President and CEO effective October 1, 2012. Doerfler has been with Metalcraft for 22 years moving to Mason City in 1990. He is a member of Metalcraft’s Board of Directors and serves as an ESOP trustee.  In addition, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for Clear Lake Bank & Trust; GPI, an industry association of graphic product identification producers where he serves on the GPI Executive Committee as Treasurer; and as a member of Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa’s Planning, Marketing & Legislation (PML) Committee.

Douglas K. Peterson has retired from his position of CEO effective September 30, 2012. Peterson will remain Metalcraft’s Chairman of the Board and will also retain partial ownership in the company as well as act as a consultant.

Jonathan Heinz was promoted from IT Director to IT Manager. Heinz’s duties include leading and managing the IT Department, all software and hardware for Metalcraft’s local area network and wide area network and prepress and production technology support.

Bill Phillips has been hired in the newly created position of Sales Manager.  Phillips is responsible for working with Metalcraft’s external sales force and indirect channel to expand sales with existing customers and develop new customers with emphasis on large account development.  He is also responsible to direct sales programs and put into action sales and marketing plans with the external sales force.

Tom Bolanos has been hired as a Direct Sales Representative representing Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas counties of Sedgwick and Sumner. His responsibilities include expanding sales with existing customers and developing new customers with an emphasis on large account development. Bolanos resides in Austin, Texas.

In June, Metalcraft strengthened their sales organization by promoting Julia Deets as Vice President, Sales & Marketing while adding Matt Martin as sales representative for a territory including Maine, Mass., New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont and New York.
