SAN ANTONIO — Vic Hash is a retired Army Sergeant First Class who volunteers helping repair cars and trucks with a nonprofit that provides support for wounded service members, WOAI reported.
The Nov. 15 story stated that Hash served two tours in Afghanistan and suffered multiple injuries. He was recently surprised with the gift of a 2008 Mazda Tribute.
Caliber Collision has refurbished and recycled a dozen cars and given them to disabled vets. "The employees and teammates at Caliber get as much, if not more out of it, than the actual recipients," Steve Grimshaw, CEO and president of Caliber Collision, said in the story.
"To receive one of these cars, especially as beautiful as this, it's awesome," Hash said in the story. "It's unexpected and totally awesome. When you have two kids in college, you try to provide the best. To get this is unexpected and just wonderful.”
