SOMERVILLE, MA — Police responded to Lechmere Car Wash here after the report of a man threatening people with a shotgun, The Somerville News reported.
The Nov. 15 story stated that, when police arrived, it ended up the angry customer was making threats with a sword instead. Police detained the suspect, Raul Parra, 38.
The alleged victim told police that Parra drove up and asked if the victim was going to move his car from a wash bay. When the victim said he was not finished washing his car, a verbal argument began.
Parra allegedly pulled a sword from behind the seat of his truck and pointed it at the victim saying, “If you don’t move, there will be a problem.” The victim was scared of being hurt, so he moved his car.
As Parra put the sword back in its sheath, he allegedly stated, “I will remember your face.” Parra then moved his truck into the bay and began washing it.
When police arrived they questioned many witnesses. Parra was placed under arrest and charged with violating a city ordinance — possession of a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon.
