This week it was announced that the Waterway Carwash chain will no longer accept Jeeps made before 2011. The carwash company released the following statement: "Waterway has experienced an unacceptable number of dangerous and costly accidents involving pre 2011 Jeep Cherokees. At Waterway, employee and customer safety is our chief concern. Therefore we have made the decision to stop washing these vehicles."
Incidents of sudden unintended acceleration (SUA) at carwashes have been reported across the nation, and in the past seven years at least three deaths have been reported at carwash locations. In 2011 a fatality occurred in Rockville, MD, after a Jeep vehicle suddenly accelerated out of the tunnel, striking two employees.
Our current poll, which can be found here, asks whether you will do the same as Waterway and ban Jeeps made before 2011 at your carwash?
