FORT COLLINS, CO — An energy company here has purchased the Whistle Clean carwash and plans to build it's new headquarters at the location, Coloradoan.com reported.
The April 1 story stated that Spirae bought the closed carwash for $1.65 million. Spirae plans to renovate the 10,000-square-foot building and build offices and lab space.
The site also gives the company room for future expansion of up to 100,000 square feet. Spirae is an energy company that specializes in power grid solutions.
The carwash was owned by Paul Heffron and Frederick Grauer who bought it for $2.05 million in 2007. The site has been a target for redevelopment, and a number of plans were proposed over the years.
Spirae had not received a building permit to begin construction on the site.
