MEADVILLE, PA — A year ago, the All-American Gas Station and Car Wash here lowered its gas prices by 10 cents in an effort to boost both gasoline and carwash sales and the plan seems to have worked, The Meadville Tribune reported.
The April 2 story quoted Don Fagley, vice president of operations who said, “Our former president, Alan Travaglini, had an idea around February of last year. If we were able to maintain our cost of gas at a dime less, it would benefit our customers and generate more traffic for our car wash.”
Today, representatives for the All-American business have reported "an all-time boom in carwashes and gas sales with lines pouring out into the street, a testament to the late Travaglini’s success," the story said.
In fact Fagley said their business just about quadrupled. “We’re fortunate we can make decisions like that on our own,” Fagley said in the story. “If we were part of a franchise, I’m not sure we’d be able to do that.”
