FRANKLIN, TN — Architect Daniel Woods said he plans on buying a six-bay self-serve carwash, only to tear it down and put up seven living units, The Tennessean reported.
The April 17 story said the land holds historical significance as it was the site of a battle on Nov. 30, 1864, when Union and Confederate soldiers battled their first fight. Approximately 8,500 men were killed.
Now, the potential sale of the carwash has gotten the attention of battlefield preservationists on both a local and national scale. No one has made an offer yet, but Woods said he will soon make his offer for the land, priced at $295,000.
