Looks like the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is against washing cars at home, too. According to a golfchannel.com story, a female golfer at an unnamed school in the West Coast Conference has been fined after she was caught washing her car on the college's campus.
The May 30 story said the golfer was using the university's water and hose. After she was caught, the the school notified the NCAA, citing an "extra benefits violation."
The NCAA agreed with the university. And, according to "the governing body's reasoning, the water and hose in question were not available to regular students at the school; as a result, the golfer was requested to re-pay the perceived value of the benefits in question – a whopping $20," the story said.
