WILMINGTON, DE — Police have apprehended Wallace Choate who allegedly carjacked a minivan at Wil’s Splash and Dash Car Wash.
Minivan owner Irene Ziemer was at the carwash with her two sons when Wallace allegedly approached the woman and told her and her sons to “get away from the van” according to the WFMZ-TV 69 News story.
Investigators were led to Choate because he had left his son at the carwash where he had allegedly stolen the minivan. Choate’s son walked up to Ziemer asking where his father was.
Police said Choate had been taken to the hospital. Once released he will be charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, reckless driving and receiving stolen property.
