Although residents still have concerns over extra traffic, property values and noise, the Coquitlam City Council approved the building site. The Council did, however, make some amendments to the operations. The carwash will have to close at 10 p.m. instead of 11 p.m., a U-turn must be built on the property and security gates will have to be installed.
The Tri-City News reports that despite the changes, residents are still opposed to the carwash.
"People have told us what they want," Councilor Neal Nicholson said. "I think we have to respect that and give them the neighborhood that they're building for themselves."
