FAIRFIELD, CT — A suspect has been arrested for allegedly passing counterfeit bills at a carwash.
According to the Fairfield Citizen, Kevin Jones passed two fake $50 bills at a carwash on two separate occasions.
After carwash management determined the bills were counterfeit, they were easily able to track down Jones. The carwash has a policy of writing down the date and license plate number of the vehicle on all $50 and $100 bills.
Detectives have determined bills bearing the same serial numbers were passed at eight different locations.
