The recently opened Extreme Clean Car Wash held its ribbon cutting ceremony with city officials on Friday, July 19. The carwash offered free washes to customers from Friday until Monday, July 21.
According to the NWItimes.com story, the carwash will offer free vacuum stations as well as a self-serve dog wash.
The Board of Trustees approved a resolution on behalf of Rallye Motors’ Mercedes-Benz dealership to amend the property’s zoning map to include a 2,400 square-foot carwash.
The carwash would be used for dealership vehicles as well as regular vehicle use.
The dealership currently offers customers a hand wash but wants the automated wash for efficiency as well as to cut down on water use, according to theislandnow.com story.
A member of the Air Force One Detailing Team has launched his own mobile detailing and automotive rent business.
Gilberto Bakhuis launched EcoAutoSpa in May, specializing in precision paint correction techniques.
“This is the dream of a lifetime and I have been working towards owning my own business for the past two years,” Bakhuis said in a press release. “I spent more than a decade working as a professional detailer and automotive leasing manager. The experience has afforded me the opportunity to learn the car leasing business, while undergoing continual training in the perfection techniques and skills required for maintaining your automotive investment.”

On Site Detail is celebrating their grand opening by offering $10 carwashes. The proceeds will benefit Opportunity Village.
One Site Detail offers detailing of automobiles, boats and airplanes.
They have already partnered with local audio and video business Custom Pro by supplying their detailing needs.
The benefit carwashes will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Gerdts runs the business with his brother-in-law, Gabe Haugland.
Iowa-based detailer Justin Zingre opened QC Auto Spa four months ago and is looking to expand to private customers.
The QC Times story says that Zingre currently offers pick-up and drop off services to commercial business accounts.
In addition to detailing QC Auto Spa offers restoration, tire wells, rubberized undercoating, engine cleaning and conditioning, overspray removal, hand waxes, high speed buffs and complete interior cleaning.
Tint World Charlotte re-launched its franchise last week under International Franchise Association Franchisee of the Year Award Winner Daniel Apa.
Apa is the current owner of Tint World Greensboro.
Taking on the Charlotte location was a “no brainer” for Apa, according to his comments in a press release.
Tint World Franchise President Charles Bonfiglio praised Apa and his partner Joe Fazio as “two of [the] best franchise owners” in the Tint World company.
Apa and Fazio reopened the shop Aug. 17.
La Jolla Custom Detailing is now open for business, according to a La Jolla Light article.
The Aug. 24 story said the business is owned by 26-year-old Steve Massey and Scott Leshner.
The business offers hand washings and waxing and "brings 30-plus combined years of experience to the corner of Nautilus Street and La Jolla Boulevard," the story reported.
The owners spent over a year looking for a suitable location.
A hand carwashing starts out at $15 and a mini detailing costs $30.
National franchise Pop Up Car Wash has popped up in D.C.
Pop Up Car Wash is a waterless, mobile, carwashing and detailing service.The D.C. franchise is run by Jelani Wilkins and Larry Leigh. The duo formed Devine Holdings Inc. in 2011 and primarily bought and sold classic cars.
Although they have been open since February, they are hoping to hire 25 employees by summer 2014 as they build their roster of established clients.
According to the virtual-strategy.com story they are offering franchise packages to others who want to join the Pop Up Car Wash company in the D.C. area.
DETAIL PLUS Car Appearance Systems, which is headed by founder and president, R.L. "Bud" Abraham, has commissioned their newest detail centre in New South Wales, Australia, a press release reported.
The Sept. 2 announcement stated that the four bay/two wash bay center is in conjunction with a self-serve carwash.Back in February, DETAIL PLUS announced the signing of a multi-year contract with DETAIL PLUS of Saudi Arabia.
Traffic concerns were among the reasons that the Chesterfield City Council split its vote on the approval of a development site.
The site, approved by a five to three vote, will include a carwash, gas station, convenience store and several other office and retail businesses.
According to the Post-Dispatch story, council members had concerns over the traffic the carwash would bring and the location of the driveways in and out of the plaza.
The Essenburg family has acquired a Quality Car Wash in Muskegon.
According to the mlive.com story, the Essenburg’s founded Quality Car Wash in 1969 and currently own three Quality Car Wash locations in Holland, and Tommy’s Express Car Wash and Quick Lube in Grand Rapids.
The Quality Car Wash purchased in Muskegon was not previously under Essenburg family ownership.
The Essenburg family created Tommy Car Wash Systems in 2003. Tommy Car Wash Systems manufactures components and automatic carwash systems.
Giant Eagle has resumed construction on a site which was halted by design changes.
According to the Observer-Reporter the site will feature a Market District store, 16 GetGo gas pumps and a carwash.
The store at the location will be smaller than the Giant Eagle store about two-and-a-half miles from the new location.
Currently there is no timetable for a grand opening.
Mighty Max Express Car Wash and Dog Wash has opened its doors.
The conveyor carwash and dog wash are the only of their kind in the city.
The owners, brothers Mark and Matthew Jackson, also own the Jackson Family of Dealerships, World of Powersports and another Might Max in Effingham

Business owner Kevin Nixon was joined by fellow Chamber of Commerce members for the ceremony.
According to the Lincoln Times News story chamber members helped Nixon build his contacts prior to his official opening.
Owners of the Royal Car Wash are building upon their success by breaking ground on a second location.
The Daniele family opened the first location in 2011 and since then profits have increased 110 percent.
“What my brother and my father and I do best is make ideas come to a successful reality,” Danny Daniele said in the Democrat and Chronicle story. “We just love the thrill of creating something from nothing and putting people to work at the same time.”
The Daniele’s do not yet have a grand opening date for the second location.
The future home of a 24-hour carwash has broken ground with a target date of opening in October.
This is the first carwash for Ben Goldie, who owns the Cottage Café, but he is not concerned that the carwash will be anything but a success.
“There’s enough cars in the area and enough tourists that I think it will be really successful,” Goldie said in the Daily Record News story. “It’s going to be a really good car wash.”
The carwash is being built on land adjacent to the café which Goldie has owned for years.
Goldie will be cross-promoting his two businesses.
As part of its grand opening Wash Barn donated nearly $3,000 to three non-profits.
The funds were raised by the carwash giving away free washes and asking customers instead to donate to one of the three charities.
The beneficiaries of the donations will be MUST Ministries, Friends of Mabry Park and McCleskey East Cobb YMCA.
Wash barn gave away more than $11,300 is carwashes during the event, according to a press release.
