Tommy Car Wash Systems adds on new director, sales manager

HOLLAND, MI — Tommy Car Wash Systems has appointed two new people to key positions at the company, according to a press release.

The Dec. 11 press release stated that Bryan McAden will serve as director of operations. McAden has more than 25 years of experience in, "streamlining logistics, materials sourcing, finance, and customer care services for a number of international companies," the press release stated.

Nathan Bertsch has been named the new chemical sales manager of the company's expanding detergent division. Bertsch has almost 20 years of carwash experience and will help owners in improving their services offerings and menus, and increasing, "value to the motorist, and achieving significant reductions in chemical costs," the press release stated.

CSI names new VP of sales

DE PERE, WI — Cleaning Systems, Inc. (CSI) has appointed John Antonis as the new vice president of sales, a press release reported.

The Dec. 13 release stated that Antonis, who joined the company in May 2013, will lead all of the company's sales efforts.

Antonis has been serving as vice president of sales and marketing for CSI’s SAS™ – Solution Application Systems division.

Dave Krause, president and CEO of CSI, stated in the press release, “In the short time that John has been with CSI, he has demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills and has the ability to address important issues as it pertained to the SAS division as the division’s vice president."

NRCC partners with trade show management company

TRENTON, NJ — The Northeast Regional Carwash Convention (NRCC) has partnered with a trade show management company which will run its annual show held in Atlantic City in the fall, a press release reported.

The Dec. 26 release stated that Public Strategies Impact (PSI) is a government relations, public affairs and association management firm located in Trenton.

Walt Hartl, New York State Car Wash Association (NYSCWA) president and the 2014 host association co-chairperson, stated in the press release, "Since the very first NRCC in Newport 25 years ago, our mission has been to continually work to raise the bar and deliver the best trade show and education sessions possible. As a result of record-breaking vendor exhibits and growing show attendance, the board felt it was time to elevate the NRCC to the next level, but still keep our approachable, intimate feel. PSI can help us do just that."

Patricia Brewer, associate director of Meetings & Convention Management, and Laura Slomka, event manager, will spearhead the NRCC management team. "PSI is proud to be working with the Northeast Regional Carwash Convention, bringing our specialized association management skillset and expertise to help facilitate the upcoming event," Brewer stated in the release. “PSI has a long and successful history of helping trade associations to grow their businesses, enhance their meetings, and organize logistical arrangements for various conventions and trade shows. We believe that this will be a mutually successful partnership.”

The 2014 NRCC is scheduled for Sept. 15-17 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and the keynote speaker will be Robert H. Benmosche, president and CEO of American International Group (AIG).

CCA celebrates the holidays at annual gathering

WOLCOTT, CT — The  Connecticut Carwash Association (CCA) held its annual Holiday Gathering at Bin 300 World Bistro on Dec. 5 at, a press release reported.

The Dec. 5 press release stated that gathering serves as a way to reconnect with fellow operators and meet some new ones.

CCA Vice President Bob Rossini stated in the press release, “There’s nothing like catching up with your peers and enjoying a really great meal and the Bin certainly provides that,” said Rossini.

MacNeil launches tech program

BARRIE, ONTARIO, CANADA — MacNeil Wash Systems has designed a technical support program called MacNeil Tech, a press release reported.

The Dec. 16 press release stated that the program will assist distributors and customers with product and parts selection questions. T

Howard Cooper, who previously served as MacNeil's parts specialist for 13 years, will be rejoining the company to lead MacNeil Tech.

“I see this as the perfect timing for MacNeil to roll out a program like this,” Cooper stated in the press release. “Having a broad background in the car wash industry, both from the factory side as well as from the field, allows me to bridge the knowledge gap for our distributors and customers who want that technical expertise when making a decisions on how to add to or repair their systems.”
