BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An employee, who was driving a 2010 Lincoln Navigator, attempted to move the vehicle forward at the Automated Hand Carwash, but instead, it accelerated, killing him, according to witnesses and the police.

The employee was thrown out of the Navigator, and was subsequently hit as it continued to move, according to the police. Witnesses reported that the SUV continued to move “wildly for more than a block before hitting a fire hydrant.”

“I can’t talk right now,” the carwash manager, who did not give his name, said in the story. “We have a tragedy here."
