Advice on car care in the winter

PRESTON, Minn. — While winter in the Great White North is hard on vehicles, there are things that can be done to make your automobile last longer, according to the Fillmore County Journal.

One tip of advice from Steve Huper of Steve’s Auto, is to wash your vehicle as frequently as possible. “Whenever there is a warmer day, take your car to the carwash,” he said.

According to Huper, a dirty undercarriage can cause several problems for a vehicle, including rusty frames, tie rod ends, ball joints, and even affect the suspension and steering.

Cleaning a vehicle is especially important in areas with severe weather. “These parts have to be replaced more often here than in other parts of the U.S.,” he said.
