Alleged outburst at carwash leads to criticism for Canadian politician

OTTAWA, Canada — Canadian parliament member Eve Adams has been accused of misusing her power, but the news of an outburst at a carwash in December is receiving just as much press, according to

The event took place at a gas station carwash. Adams felt the wash was unsatisfactory due to a thin layer of ice still on the vehicle, according to John Newcombe, the owner of the station. Adams blocked the station pumps so other customers could not use them, he said.

“I have never experienced anything like this,” said Newcombe. “Ms. Adams just was adamant in refusing to communicate.” He continued that she said she was timing him to see how long it would take to get her a refund.

Adams disagrees with Newcombe’s account of the events. “The entire time I simply said, look, if I could simply go through the wash a second time, or if not, could they kindly refund the unused car washes I had just bought moments ago.”
