The benefits of LED lighting include: Reduced energy consumption, they don’t burn out like typical bulbs, they emit light in a specific direction, and they offer up brighter settings.
According to Jason Baright, a lighting designer and the president of G&G LED, “Well made LED lighting sources are able to produce
a higher quality of light than traditional sources. Colors will appear more vivid and details will pop. When choosing lighting for a carwash, you want to look for a ‘daylight white’ (5000K-5500K) color temperature. This will give you a nice crisp and clean white look, without making things appear blue.”
And, because available LED lighting is waterproof and chemical resistant, more carwash owners are installing it in and around their bays and tunnels.
According to Tommy Hoffman, Jr., CEO of Hoffman Car Wash, who uses G&G LED lighting, "Everywhere you look LED lighting is being installed. In our washes we needed a rugged, waterproof, bright fixture. The G&G product is produced by a fellow carwasher who has designed a product perfect for our application and it's made in the USA."
Hoffman said that by installing the lighting in their bays and tunnels, the lighting is distributed evenly, making for an appealing ride through the wash, and the light offers a brilliant white light.
In terms of energy savings, Hoffman said that's another bonus. "We are using 65 percent less power," he said. Also, the lights are is chemical resistant, and easy to install. "It's a win-win all around."
