TORONTO — When he was 5 years old, Seamus Smith began his first business, a lemonade stand, according to myTownCrier.ca.

The stand did well for him, and now, 12 years later, he is running a different business, Davisville Detailing, a mobile car detail service.

When he was younger, Smith would go with his parents to get the family vehicle detailed. He enjoyed the way it made the car look, but didn’t like having to wait hours at a shop for it to get detailed. “I thought it was a bit of an opportunity to start a mobile detailing service.”

His first year in business, he detailed 120 cars, and he is hoping to detail at least 300 this year. The business has grown from two part-time workers last year, to a current roster of three full-time workers and two part-timers.

Davisville offers a full line of services, ranging from a basic rinse and clean, to a full package, including “dirt, bugs and dust removal, exterior hand wash and wax, full car vacuuming, polishing, and cleaning and shining tires and rims,” it states in the story.

A major benefit of the job is getting to work on some nice cars, he said, and even getting to drive one of them, a Porsche Carrera. “[A customer had] seen one of my signs around and saw that it said student run so he knew that I was a teenager doing this,” said Smith. “He was so happy with the job he brought his other Porsche over and he let me drive [it] back to his house!”
