Easy and Effective Fundraising Program Is Also Environmentally Friendly
CHARLOTTE (March 6, 2012) -- During 2011, Autobell® Car Wash’s Charity Car Wash Program helped raise $678,153 for charities, schools, and other nonprofits in North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. The Charlotte-based company’s program began in 1998 and has assisted nonprofits in raising over $4.75 million to date. Through the program, Autobell provides 501(c)(3) groups with full-service car wash tickets custom-printed with the organization's name; the tickets are sold by the nonprofit at full price and honored at all Autobell locations. Fundraisers keep 50% of the proceeds from all ticket sales.
Some notable 2011 fundraisers utilizing the Autobell program included:
- A high school marching band in Union County, NC, that raised $5,983.
- Elementary school PTA, Fulton County, GA, $8,217.
- Women's counseling service, Guilford County, NC, $4,213.
- Kiwanis club, Henderson County, NC, $2,285.
- Church, Hampton Roads, VA, $2,980.
- School rugby team, Mecklenburg County, NC, $3,764.
- Private academy, Wake County, NC, $4,668.
“This program is unique and popular with the public and a boon to fund drive organizers. They don't have to deal with planning and executing a parking lot car wash or other large-scale fundraising event, worry about rain dates, or incur any upfront cost," stated Autobell President & CEO Chuck Howard. “We are thrilled to provide an easy and effective way for so many nonprofits to reach their fundraising goals.
"And since all Autobell locations treat 100% of the wash water used and recycle up to 100%, organizations can feel satisfied they're encouraging supporters to utilize the most environmentally friendly method for washing their cars," Howard concluded.
