POWAY, CA — Yogesh Mody, who was training to be an engineer, had always wanted to own his own business. After careful research that lasted two years, he and his business partner decided to pool their money and efforts and open up a carwash in downtown San Diego, the PowayPatch reported.

The Feb. 29 story quoted Mody who said, “After exploring many opportunities for almost two years, the carwash business in general and the Pacific Highway location in particular seemed to meet most of our criteria. My partner and I risked everything and invested every last dime we had at that time to acquire the business.”

The first Body Beautiful Car Wash opened for business in 1979. Now, almost 32 years later, they have four locations in total and have washed more than 11 million cars.

And, recently the carwash here was named the best carwash in Poway by the Poway Premium Partners’ poll.

Mody admitted things have been a bit trying, due to the economic turmoil across the nation.

“We have been through other recessions in the past, but those lasted only about a year or so,” he said in the story. “The length of this recession has made things especially difficult. We have responded to the economic conditions by substantially reducing our prices, cut expenses wherever possible and at the same time, providing the best quality of service possible. We feel that worst is finally behind us and we look forward to gradual improvement in the business this and the future years.”
