Carwash fire causes thousands in damage

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — A 19-minute fire in a carwash equipment room here caused approximately $10,000 worth of damage, the Daily Herald reported.

The Jan. 21 story stated that the Rolling Meadows Fire Department arrived at the carwash two minutes after the 8:11 a.m. call.

“When we got there, there was a fire in the equipment room with the electrical and the heating equipment for the carwash,” Battalion Chief Mike Ahlman said in the story.

The firefighters had the fire out by 8:30 a.m. and the damage was contained to the equipment room, the story noted. The fire’s cause is undetermined.
