TYLER, TX — The owner of a carwash and detail shop here said the early emergence of pollen this year is a “good thing,” KETK reported.
The March 14 story interviewed Edward Starks, the owner of Ed’s Car Wash and Detail, and he explained that his sales go up 20 to 30 percent every year around allergy season.
“Business picks up every year during this time because the yellow pollen has fallen, and people can’t stand it,” Starks said in the story. “It’s a good thing for me every year. People have allergies and they don’t want it on their car, they don’t want it anywhere.”
Further, Starks let readers know that carwashes don’t offer “rain checks” or refunds during pollen season. “You can come get your car washed and in about 30 minutes, it’s gonna be covered again ... so just keep coming back!” he said in the article.
