SALT LAKE CITY — The second in command of the Carbon County Sheriff’s department here was charged with three counts of criminal mischief, according to abc4.com.
The March 8 story stated that Deputy Sheriff Guy Adams’ charges are the result of an event at the Premier Vehicle detail shop where Adams was accused of keying three vehicles.
The detail shop works with law enforcement throughout the state, and Adams was with Sheriff Jim Cordova at the business on the day of the crime having work done on his vehicle.
Salt Lake District Attorney Sim Gill said surveillance at the business captured Adams in the act. “He was the only one there where the vehicles were,” Gill said in the story. “There was no one in that secure area for 24 hours. He is seen with a hand motion going up and down by those vehicles.”
At first Adams denied the crime, but after being confronted by the Sheriff, he told the owner of the shop that he would pay the damages to make the case go away. Adams is currently on administrative leave.
