ROME, GA — Over the past 30 years, the operator of the family-owned Collins Auto Clean Up has expanded his business to include a number of different services, the Rome News-Tribune reported.
The March 25 story stated that Bill Collins’ business has expanded into cleaning up airplanes, the exteriors of commercial buildings and just about anything else that can be cleaned with a pressure washer.
Collins is now a city commissioner, and he explained in the story that the business has always been a family affair. Collins’ wife runs the front office, and his brother-in-law Tim Wilson has worked with the business for decades.
The business’ early growth started with a fleet contract with Sears in Rome, GA, and then moved into a commercial account for the “beautification” of ambulances at Floyd Medical Center.
The beautification of a downtown bank building is seen by Collins as his business’ crown jewel. The building was cleaned for the celebration of Rome’s 100th anniversary.
