Easywash, a new local carwash business, is the first in the area to utilize new technology to help make carwashing more environmentally friendly.

Easywash is the first carwash to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified and will have the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell powered carwash.

A ground breaking ceremony for the wash took place recently, and experts were on hand to answer questions about the pioneering eco-friendly carwash.

The fuel cell will provide 90 percent of the electricity and 100 percent of the building and water heating requirements for the wash, and will ideally reduce the overall operating costs of the facility.

Kittery Point, ME
By mid-summer, the town of Kittery Point will have its first carwash facility owned by Ken Couperthwait.

Couperthwait has already broken ground for his two-bay, touch-free automatic carwash, and hopes to benefit from an area with little carwash competition.

Couperthwait’s conditional-use permit was approved by the planning board last December, and the wash is set to operate 24-hours a day, with vending and vacuuming options for customers.

Fort Myers, FL
The Palm Point Riverfront Towers will offer its residents luxury and convenience with a host of amenities including a private carwash.

The 12-story, 98 condominium tower will sit on the north side of the Caloosahatchee River, and feature a gated entrance, boat/trailer parking, a private boat ramp, and carwash.

Construction is set to begin later this year and residents will also have access to covered parking and storage units for vehicles.

Miller, SD
The Super Clean Car Wash operated by Bill and Nancy Lewellen is up and running.

The couple recently purchased the former Turtle Wash, which now has one automatic and two self-serve bays.

The carwash will be open 24-hours each day with part-time attendees onsite, and a grand opening is in the works.

Tamarac, FL
The Southgate Sunoco gas station, carwash, and convenience store located here will continue to operate thanks to a fast loan of $2.5 million from Kennedy Funding.

Kennedy is a direct private lender based in Hackensack, NJ, and was able to approve the loan in an urgent time frame for the buyers.

The station is part of a prime retail location, and pumps about 450,000 gallons of fuel a month — more than double the average of other gas stations in the vicinity.
