Fishkill, NY

The newest Foam & Wash Carwash in Fishkill, NY is now equipped with two private pet wash bays.

Each climate-controlled room has a waist-high, stainless steel tub with non-skid ramps and soap dispensers.

Pet owners can choose from regular, flea and tick or oatmeal shampoo, as well as conditioner.

Co-owner Todd Baright said that deciding to include pet washes was a no-brainer. The facility already had everything it needed, including the bays and drains.

Pet owners can pay with cash, credit cards or quarters, and prices range from $1 for one minute and 20 seconds to $10 for 22 minutes.

The Polar Car Wash is currently being built as a direct result of the Riverbend Retail Park, which includes a nearby Menards and Wal-Mart.

The carwash is directly across from the expansive parking lots of the two big-box stores. Pat Durnen, owner of Durnen Trucking & Excavating, hopes to capitalize on the high traffic count.

Durnen has owned three acres there for the past 10 years, and has been thinking of putting a carwash in for the past four years.

The carwash will feature two automatic lines and four self-serve bays.

Fergus Falls, MN

While it began business as an auto service shop and later expanded into carwashing, Preferred Body Shop and Glass is now moving to an industrial area with highway frontage.

Owner Duane Dornbush feels his business will be better off in the new location because he will receive better exposure to the public.

The new facility, which is two times the size of the old one, will include an office area with a waiting room and enough space to better accommodate his quick lube, washing and detailing services, as well as space for collision repair and windshield work.

Middletown, NY

A local carwash operator’s $2.5 million investment has opened for customers seeking detailed cleaning.

According to owner Gus Papastefanou, the Beverly Hills Car Spa will be worth the $25 customers are charged for a 10 person crew that provides full-service cleaning for each vehicle.

The Beverly Hills Car Spa covers a 2,000-square-foot space, and includes an auto aftermarket sales area with vehicle rims, body kits, stereo installations and vehicle painting.

Papastefanou has also added a small hair salon with two pedicure stations that overlook the carwash through a large window, and hopes to expand the beauty business to bring in a larger customer base.
