After 22 years in the carwash business, Steve Eckard, project manager for High Tide carwash, is ready to give express exterior washing a try.

Eckard said he expects the business, featuring a modern design with lots of glass, to be open this month. The owner is Bobby Watson, a certified public accountant and local businessman.

The environmentally-friendly tunnel wash will feature hybrid and closed-cell foam wash materials, as well as biodegradable cleaning products and a water reclaim system.

Eckard anticipates the business will qualify to become a part of the International Carwash Association’s WaterSavers Program.

2G Services is expanding and looking to hire 10 more employees in spite of the recent recession.

The carwash, now with three locations and a fourth on the way, is eco-friendly and includes a coffee bar.

In addition to its newest location, the family-run company wants to grow throughout Europe. Managing director Alan Beal said, “We’re talking to companies in both Germany and Greece, with a view to expansion.”

Beal credits their eco-friendliness as a reason they’re staying above the competition.

The other is to make sure every car we service is restored to an optimal level of cleanliness, or beauty. Hence, CARBONita literally means ‘little carbon, beautiful car.’”
