It is an honor and a privilege that I am writing this column as the new editor of Professional Carwashing & Detailing.

Serving owners and operators in the professional carwashing and detailing industry, this magazine is a leading resource for the marketplace and I am proud to be a part of it.

Over the past three years, I have had the pleasure of meeting with readers, manufacturers, suppliers, consultants and association directors, and I am thoroughly impressed with the passion, altruism, tenacity and work ethic found throughout this industry. I also have witnessed outstanding efforts from all of you to find new ways to grow, succeed, flourish and learn. That passion coincides with our mission: Which is to provide you with information, insider knowledge, product information and tools focused on your growth and profit. In other words, your most critical issues are our most critical issues. We want, and need, for each of you to prosper, so please use this magazine, our eNews, and our eNewsletters as tools for your success.

To help me achieve our dual mission, I have set three major goals. First, I will visit with our readers on a regular basis to find out what type of information you are looking for, how you prefer to receive that information, and how we can improve our methods of delivery. These visits are important to our magazine’s present and future success in effectively serving you. Secondly, to ensure that we have a successful product/market editorial mix, I will conduct regular surveys to make sure we are meeting your needs. And, thirdly, I will continue to foster our relationship with a team of editorial experts who are part of our advisory board.

Helping me to do all of this are two people who have joined the PC&D team, Editorial Director Rich DiPaolo and Managing Editor Phil Lawless. Both Rich and Phil have hit the ground running, and their past editorial experience and talents are readily showcased in this month’s edition.

Along with the new names, you also may have noticed that we have launched our new version of which debuted in March with great success. A lot of hard work went into this redesign, and I would like to extend my warm thanks to the entire PC&D staff, notably Cindy Rein, Sandy Murphy and Phil for their tireless efforts. These individuals played an integral role in the new launch, as well as in helping to archive our vast collection of articles and press releases from the past five years.

Along with Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds that compile articles, columns, and news in a centralized location, the new website is fully customizable, giving you the ability to choose what content appears on your screen. The new homepage also has audio and video capabilities; and you can now comment on articles and share them through various social media networks. Remember, this is your magazine and we encourage you to share your thoughts and comments with all of our readers.

Before signing off, I want to note how excited I am to be attending the upcoming Car Care World Expo in Las Vegas in May. I hope you can attend and if you do, please be sure to stop by our booth (#289) and say hello.

From all of us at PC&D, we wish you a happy and prosperous high-traffic, pollen-ridden season, and we look forward to meeting and working with you.
