Father and son duo, Richard and Chad Gardner of Super Suds, were awarded the Retailer of the Year Award for Leadership (ROYAL) by the Florida Retail Federation.

The pair’s Tallahassee carwash chain was in the $1 million - $10 million sales volume category. It has been in business since 1991 and includes three full-service locations and a Super Suds Express, featuring a three-minute drive-through wash.

Chad Gardner is one of the founders of the Tallahassee Young Entrepreneurs Association, which provides programs intended to educate, inspire and motivate young business owners.

Following Hurricane Katrina, Super Suds organized a fundraiser for victims, donating over $7,000 to relief efforts.

SJK Products Ltd., manufacturers of the waterless carwash product Miracle Drywash, has appointed exclusive distributorship to Melbourne, Australia company Aquafree Drywash Pty Ltd., now trading as Miracle Drywash Australia.

Miracle Drywash washes vehicles without using water.

At the World Water Conference held at Oxford University, England, Miracle Drywash was awarded the Waterwise Marque for its contribution towards water conservation.

D&S Car Wash Equipment Company hosted their third annual National Sales Meeting and Vendor Expo in St. Louis where they provided distributors with a hands-on opportunity to discover new advancements in technology and controls.

In addition to the sales meeting, distributors were able to meet with select partner suppliers of D&S expo, which featured more than 20 carwash industry suppliers.

The MacPherson Companies, Inc., a company which manufacturers pet washes, is introducing a pet supply vending machine that accepts major credit cards.

Carwash owner/operators will be able to view sales activities and alerts through an automated web-based application technology that is tied to the credit card processing system.

The company will also manufacture an “economically-priced” pet wash system. The ‘econo-pet wash’ is coin and bill operated, but is priced under $7,000.

Mercator Group LLC has completed a strategic investment in Car Wash Services & Equipment LLC by Mesa Capital Partners of New England.

Frank DiTommaso, President of Car Wash Services, said, “As a result of this transaction and strategic investment by Mesa Capital Partners, Car Wash Services & Equipment is enlarging its territory and service offerings to meet the expanding needs of our customers.”

Mesa Capital Partners is a private equity firm that invests in high-potential small businesses in industries and geographic areas underserved by other capital providers.

The Mercator Group is a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm focused on the middle market.

Car Wash Services & Equipment LLC is a distributor of commercial carwash equipment

Autobell Car Wash, Inc. awarded scholarships to its employees for use at any college or university of their choice, with this year’s gifts totaling $30,200.

Since its inception, the Autobell Scholarship Program has awarded over $106,000 in academic funds to employees.

The Autobell Scholarship is an annual program open to current Autobell employees of at least one year and who are graduating high school seniors or have received a high school diploma within the past three years.

Charlotte-based Autobell, the second largest full-service car wash chain in the nation, has 47 carwashes in 23 North Carolina, 1 South Carolina, and 4 Virginia cities.
