After a three year hiatus, the Detail Operations Benchmark Survey Report is back. We’d like to say its better than ever, but unfortunately, a low response rate keeps us from being as happy as we’d like. Seventy operators took the time to participate in this year’s survey, and the staff of PC&D would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to each and every operator for his/her efforts. We know your time is valuable, and so we are grateful you took thirty minutes out of your day to complete our survey.
The good news is the detail industry seems relatively stable. The majority of operators enjoyed an increase in business from 2006 to 2007 and seem to anticipate another increase in 2008. The average price of the best-selling detail package in 2005 was $197.38; today the total comes to about $168.47. The decrease may seem dramatic, but considering the boom in express detailing the number is strong.
