Detailers move from a barn to a spacious garage
TRAVERSE CITY, MI — Unique Customs, a car detailing, customizing and collision repair business, recently upgraded to a 9,000-square-foot garage space, Grand Traverse Insider reported.
The May 21 story stated that Unique Customs was started by brothers Andrew and Matt Gulseth in their parents’ pole barn, and since their teens, the duo has built and worked on cars, often customizing and painting them.
The brothers started out doing mechanical work, brake work, window tinting, lighting and “pretty much anything else.” In 2009, they were registered and insured with insurance companies to do collision repair including paint and body work.
Even so, the pair’s passion still lies in custom car work. Customizing a car can include custom rims, headlight and taillight tinting, unique paint jobs, lowering and lift kits, carbon fiber parts and painting, custom fabrication and more.
Matt Gulseth explained that he puts the quality of each job above all else. “We do not allow staff to cut corners and sacrifice quality,” he said in the story. This sometimes means that work must be re-done. “Even if we lose money on a job, if the client is happy, that will bring us more business and repeat customers.”
