Carwash hosts dog wash to support animal shelter

September 19, 2012

DURHAM, NC — NBC 17 reported that around 85 dogs and their owners stopped by the Bull City Car Wash in Durham for a complete coat and teeth cleaning in support of the Animal Protection Society, an animal shelter located here.

The Sept. 15 story stated that the dog wash at Bull City Car Wash was designed to help raise money for the shelter, which currently provides temporary shelter to nearly 250 dogs and cats.

On top of that service, the Animal Protection Society has provided service to 6,500 stray, homeless and neglected animals in the past year alone.

Stephanie Kirby, the event coordinator and a volunteer at the Animal Protection Society, said that people and their pups lined up in the early hours of the morning at the Bull City Car Wash and were greeted by an assembly line of local volunteers who scrubbed the pups for the fundraiser’s 13th year.
