Designer outlet refused a waterless carwash
YORK, ENGLAND — A shopping center here saw its plans for a new parking lot carwash turned down, The Press reported.
The Dec. 26 story stated that the bosses of York Designer Outlet wanted to use three parking spaces for a waterless carwash. The wash would have created four jobs and operated only when the outlet was open.
Even so, the proposals were rejected by the City of York Council. The planning officers claimed the wash would be an “inappropriate development” in the area’s Green Belt.
Further, the council claimed the canopy that would have formed part of the wash would set an “unprecedented precedent” for other business schemes.
