Blog: I'm not surprised (I think)
I understand that it must be difficult to turn away a customer. Especially a regular customer. It's no position that I personally would ever want to be in. But, at the same time, I understand why carwashes out there are refusing to wash Jeep Grand Cherokees. The idea that one, made before 2011, could possibly suddenly accelerate is just too scary and dangerous to fathom, so, why risk it?
The recent news in which the Waterway carwash chain said it will no longer wash Jeep Grand Cherokee at any of its locations created a lot of buzz throughout the industry.
But, did it make a difference?
Our current poll asked whether you would still wash Jeeps at your washes and the majority of you said you would. I wonder if those of you who said "yes" offer special training to employees about Jeeps? Or maybe you think it has to do with operator errors? I'm not sure, but in our May issue, we will have a great column from blogger David Dwyer who talks about Jeeps. Let me know what you think!
