Councilor speaks out after plan is resubmitted
DARWEN, ENGLAND — A plan to setup a carwash near a park here was resubmitted after the council threw out the request last year, the Lancashire Telegraph reported.
The March 14 story stated that councilors opposed the original plan due to traffic, parking, drainage and noise. One councilor said he would be against the new plan for the same reasons.
Even so, the applicant claims the new design would satisfy concerns about parking and traffic. The updated plan would reverse the proposed entrance and exit.
Lookman Patel submitted the plans, and he said in the story, “The orientation of the development has been changed from the earlier refusal. There will be no reversing maneuvers on the adjacent highway network. There will be no standing or parking of vehicles on the adjacent highway because of the complete restrictions.”
